BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to (425). In bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend in shortening until mixture resembles meal. Add buttermilk, sifting until it just forms a dough. Gather into a ball. On lightly floured surface, knead dough gently 6 times and pat it 1/2 in thick. Cut out as many rounds as possible with a 3 in round cutter. Gather scraps and repeat until remaining dough is used. Should be 8 biscuits in all. Brush tops with milk.
Bake (425) 12-15 min.
